Dietmar Küblböck, born June 8, 1963 in Linz, is a renowned Austrian trombonist and professor. He began his musical training at age 14 with his father Horst Küblböck at the Vienna Conservatory. At 18, he became principal trombonist of the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra, joined the Vienna Symphony a year later, and since 1999 has served as principal trombonist of both the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera. Alongside his orchestral career, Küblböck teaches at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. He is also active in ensembles such as Concentus Musicus Wien, the Clemencic Consort, and the Vienna Trombone Quartet, and performs internationally as a soloist. His repertoire spans from early music on historical instruments to contemporary chamber music.
