Benny Brown, born in 1983 in Münster, grew up in a musical family and discovered the trumpet at the age of 16. After classical training, he became flugelhornist with the German Air Force Music Corps III before starting his trumpet studies in Hamburg in 2004. He toured internationally with the BuJazzO under Peter Herbolzheimer and became a regular guest with the NDR Bigband. As a versatile all-round trumpeter, he has performed with Revolverheld, Christina Stürmer, Roger Cicero, “Sing meinen Song,” and the German Film Awards. In 2014, he released his debut album Brown with his quartet. Benny teaches at Brassweek Samedan and plays with renowned ensembles like the Ed Partyka Jazz Orchestra, Fette Hupe, and Don Menza Big Band. From 2018–2024, he was a jazz trumpet professor in Hanover. As a B&S endorser, he plays his signature “PBB” model. With stylistic versatility and a clear sound, Benny is a prominent figure in the German jazz scene.
