Flugelhornist of the Egerländer Musikanten – The Original

Helmut Kassner was born in 1960 in Giarmata, Banat (Romania), and received his musical education at the Conservatory in Cluj. In 1982, he moved to Germany and completed his trumpet studies with distinction at the Karlsruhe University of Music in 1992. He went on to work as a solo trumpeter, including engagements at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern and in major musical productions such as Miss Saigon and The Phantom of the Opera in Stuttgart. Since 1990, Helmut Kassner has been a permanent member of Ernst Hutter & Die Egerländer Musikanten – Das Original, where he plays a leading role as principal flugelhorn player. In addition to his work as an orchestral musician, he teaches at the music school in Ehingen and has led the wind orchestra of the Öpfingen Music Association since 2016. Kassner is also active as a composer and arranger, dedicated to preserving and further developing Bohemian brass music.
