Stefan Ambrosius

Stefan Ambrosius is the principal tubist of the Bavarian State Opera and a member of the internationally renowned ensemble German Brass. Born in Trier, he began his musical journey with the tenor horn before switching to the tuba. After studying in Saarbrücken and Stuttgart, where he graduated with a diploma, he quickly gained orchestral experience, including at the Stuttgart State Opera. Today, he is considered one of the most sought-after tubists of his generation. As a guest musician, he has performed with the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonics, as well as numerous other leading orchestras and opera houses. International tours and masterclasses have taken him across Europe, Asia, and North America. He also taught for several years at the Stuttgart University of Music. Ambrosius is known for his musical versatility, tonal depth, and passionate dedication to his instrument.
